The US audit regulator has re-opened the comment file for a proposal that has sparked backlash for requiring auditors to dig deeper into possible corporate law-breaking.
Auditors, investors and other stakeholders can weigh in through March 18 on the 2023 proposal that would raise the bar for how auditors vet the financial toll of corporate crimes and regulatory violations, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board said on Monday.
