6 Maryland Counties Change Tax Rates for 2023

Six Maryland counties made changes to their income tax rates for 2023, including two introducing graduated rates, the state comptroller’s office said Dec. 1.

Anne Arundel County and Frederick County introduced graduated tax brackets, the office said in its 2023 Withholding Tax Facts newsletter. Anne Arundel County, which used a tax rate of 2.81% in 2022, now uses that rate for taxable income of more than $50,000 in 2023, and uses a 2.7% rate for taxable income of up to $50,000, the office said.
