Alabama Extends State Tax Deadlines for Storm Victims

Alabama state tax deadlines were extended for victims of recent severe storms in the same areas that recently received federal tax relief, the state revenue department said May 4.

State tax payments and returns originally due from March 25 to Aug. 2 may be made by Aug. 2, the same extension granted by the Internal Revenue Service for federal taxes, the department said in a news release.

Taxpayers filing for some taxes, including withholding, may also file Form PWR, Request for Waiver of Penalty, the department said.
