Alaska Minimum Wage to Increase to $11.91 Starting Jan. 1, 2025

The hourly minimum wage in Alaska will rise to $11.91 from $11.73 effective Jan. 1, 2025, according to a news release from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Executive, administrative, and professional employees are exempt from state minimum wage requirements if they earn a salary equal to at least two times the minimum wage rate for 40 hours worked, according to the news release. Consequently, the minimum salary for exemption effective Jan. 1, 2025, is $952.80 per week, or $49,545.60 annually.

Alaska’s minimum wage will rise again on July 1, 2025, to $13, according to the news release. ...
