Algeria Raises Minimum Wage Effective Jan. 1, 2026

Algeria’s monthly and hourly minimum wages increased effective Jan. 1 for the first time since 2021 in a decree published in the country’s gazette Jan. 8.

The monthly minimum wage was increased to 24,000 Algerian dinars (US$184.23), from 20,000 Algerian dinars, in Presidential Decree No. 26-01 (French). The monthly minimum wage is based on a 40-hour week and 173.33 hours worked per month, the decree said.

The hourly minimum wage was increased to 138.46 Algerian dinars, up from 115.38 Algerian dinars, the decree said.
