- The APA and GPMI will combine to become PayrollOrg
- The name change will take effect on May 2
The American Payroll Association is merging with the Global Payroll Management Institute and is rebranding itself PayrollOrg as of May 2.
“This will be the last Capital Summit hosted by the American Payroll Association,” said Robert Wagner, a senior director with APA, speaking at the organization’s annual meeting on March 20.
The APA’s official announcement is posted on its website.
The APA founded GPMI in 2015 to serve international payroll providers, and the merger is intended to better reflect an increasingly global and multinational payroll industry, the APA said. The acronym for PayrollOrg will be PAYO.
The APA also plans on launching The Payroll Community, an online platform for APA members to network and share industry knowledge with each other.
The websites for the APA and GPMI, americanpayroll.org and gpminstitute.com, will automatically redirect to www.payroll.org. In addition, the @payroll.org email domain name will replace the current @americanpayroll.org and @gpminstitute.com domains. Emails sent to the old domain names will be forwarded to the updated email addresses, and any responses will come from the new domain name.
