Angola’s monthly minimum wage will increase Sept. 15 and again a year later under a government decree published July 17.
Presidental Decree No. 152/24 (Portuguese) increases the monthly minimum wage to 70,000 kwanzas (US$79.41), up from three values ranging from 32,181.15 kwanzas to 48,273.15 kwanzas. The increases take effect 60 days after the decree’s July 17 publication, or Sept. 15. After a year, on Sept. 15, 2025, the monthly minimum wage increases to 100,000 kwanzas.
Exceptionally, the decree allows micro-businesses and startups to pay a monthly minimum wage of 50,000 kwanzas.
