Argentina Decree Introduces One-Time Bonus Payment

Argentina employers must pay lower-income employees a one-time bonus in December to help with rising inflation, a decree published Dec. 17 said.

Decree 841/2022 (Spanish) requires employers to pay the bonus to employees earning net wages up to three times the monthly minimum wage in effect for December, or 185,859 Argentine pesos (US$1,070.64). The maximum bonus of 24,000 Argentine pesos must be paid to employees earning up to 161,859 Argentine pesos in December. For employees earning more than 161,859 Argentine pesos, the bonus is the difference between 185,859 Argentine pesos and their monthly net wages.
