Argentina Introduces One-Off Bonus, Extends Social Tax Deadlines

Argentina employers must pay lower-income employees a one-off bonus with wage payments for August and September, while September social tax deadlines were also extended by two days, the country’s government said.

Decree 438/2023 (Spanish) follows a similar measure in 2022, both aimed at helping with inflation, by requiring payments of 30,000 Argentine pesos (US$85.72) with wages paid for August and September. A bonus must be paid to employees earning less than 400,000 Argentine pesos in net wages in August.
