Arkansas is clarifying how the state Division of Labor handles wage-hour complaints, under a bill that will take effect 90 days after the legislature adjourns.
Employees have a two-year statute of limitation period to recover unpaid wages, including minimum wages, overtime, and compensatory time, under state law. SB 279 maintains this two-year limit but establishes a separate two-year assessment period for the division to conduct investigations of complaints filed with the state.
