Starting July 1, employers in Australia with fewer than 20 employees are to use the Single Touch Payroll (STP) data-processing system to report payroll data on a real-time basis when paying employees.
Employers with at least 20 employees as of April 1, 2018, were required since July 1, 2018, to use STP, which involves submitting tax and superannuation data through government-approved software with STP capability.
