Belgium Indexes Minimum Wage, Effective May 1

Belgium’s standard monthly minimum wage was indexed for inflation effective May 1, its Federal Public Service Employment, Labour, and Social Dialogue said May 22.

The standard minimum wage (Dutch) increased to 2,070.48 euros (US$2,241.54), up from 2,029.88 euros. Minimum wages for 38-, 39-, or 40-hour weeks increased to 12.5738 euros, 12.2514 euros, or 11.9451 euros, respectively, up from 12.3272 euros, 12.0111 euros, and 11.7108 euros.

The standard minimum wage was last adjusted effective April 1 through an amendment to the underlying collective bargaining agreement. The last indexation took effect Nov. 1, 2023.
