The local minimum wage law in Bellingham, Washington, is taking effect for the first time on May 1, and the hourly minimum wage will be $17.28, according to the city’s website.
The local minimum wage will be set at $1 above the state minimum wage from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, and at $2 above the minimum wage starting May 1, 2025, under Bellingham’s municipal code.
The state minimum wage for 2024 is $16.28.
Employers and employees are subject to the local minimum wage if they are covered under the state minimum wage law.
