Botswana’s hourly minimum wages increased by 17% on July 1, the country’s labor ministry said.
The hourly minimum wage increased to 6.77 pula (U.S. 64 cents) for most industries, up from 5.79 pula (U.S. 55 cents), the Ministry of Employment, Labour Productivity, and Skills Development said in a news release.
For the retail distribution industry, the hourly minimum wage increased to 6.01 pula (U.S. 57 cents), up from 5.14 pula (U.S. 49 cents), the ministry said.
The monthly minimum wage for the agricultural industry increased to 1,000 pula (U.S. $94.42), up from 700 pula (U.S. $66.09), the ministry said. ...
