Bulgaria Assembly Considers Bills on 2025 Budgets for National Health Insurance, State Social Security Funds

The Bulgarian National Assembly Feb. 24 accepted for consideration Bill Nos. 51-502-01-5 and 51-502-01-6, on the National Health Insurance Fund and State Social Security Fund budgets for 2025. The bills include measures to: 1) maintain the 8 percent mandatory health insurance contribution rate; 2) apply a health insurance contribution ratio of 60 percent for employers and 40 percent for insured persons; 3) increase the minimum wage for social contributions to 1,077 leva (US$578.35) from 933 leva (US$501.02) from Jan. 1; 5) increase the minimum social security income for self-insured individuals to 1,077 leva from 933 leva from April 1; and ...
