California City Raises Minimum Wage

The hourly minimum wage to employers in Daly City, Calif., is to be $12 under a minimum wage ordinance that was adopted by the city council.

The measure, which took effect Feb. 13, 2019, was signed Jan. 14 by Mayor Raymond A. Buenaventura (D).

The measure (Ordinance No. 1425) raises the city’s minimum wage to $13.75 on Jan. 1, 2020, and to $15 on Jan. 1, 2021. The hourly minimum wage is to be adjusted annually for inflation starting Jan. 1, 2022.
