California City to Raise Minimum Wage to $16.45 in 2023

The hourly minimum wage in Half Moon Bay, California, will rise to $16.45 from $15.56 effective Jan. 1, 2023, according to an Oct. 12 update on the city’s minimum wage website.

Half Moon Bay’s minimum wage applies to employees who work at least two hours in a calendar week, under the city’s minimum wage code.

California’s current statewide hourly minimum wage is $15 for employers with at least 26 employees and $14 for employers with fewer than 26 employees. The state minimum wage will rise to $15.50 for all employers effective Jan. 1, 2023.
