The taxable values California specifies for meals and lodging provided to employees will increase for 2024, the state’s Employment Development Department said.
The specified values are used when values are not otherwise stated in an employment contract or an agreement with a union. For 2024, the meal values for non-maritime employees listed on the department’s website are:
- Breakfast, $3.05, up from $2.85.
- Lunch, $4.55, up from $4.25.
- Dinner, $7.25, up from $6.75.
- Meal not identified as any of the three, $5.35, up from $4.95.
- Three meals in a day, $14.85, up from $13.85.
