California’s state disability insurance wage base and tax rate for 2023 were announced Oct. 28 on the state employment development department website.
The taxable wage base for the state disability insurance program will be $153,164 for 2023, up from $145,600 in 2022.
The employee tax rate for program coverage will be 0.9%, down from 1.1% in 2022, and the maximum amount to withhold for each employee will be $1,378.48.
