California released its 2024 minimum wage order on the Industrial Relations Department website.
California’s hourly minimum wage is $16 effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to the order. Employers must pay employees at least the minimum wage unless they are fast-food employers or health care facility employers, which will be subject to higher wage rates in 2024. The Industrial Relations Department intends to release a supplement to the minimum wage order for these employers.
