The 2019 version of California’s Form DE 4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, was released Jan. 30 by the state’s Employment Development Department.
The form itself was unchanged from 2018, but the instructions were updated to show California’s tax brackets for 2019 and to increase the value of an allowance, which is worth $129.80 a year in 2019, up from $125.40 in 2018.
