Cambodia will raise the monthly minimum wage for workers in the garment, footwear, and travel goods and bags industries to U.S. $194, according to a Sept. 28 press release (Khmer) from the country’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
The minimum wage increase will be effective Jan. 1, 2022, the press release said.
The National Council on Minimum Wage voted to keep the current $192 monthly minimum wage for 2022, but Prime Minister Hun Sen raised it to $194 in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the press release said.
