Canada’s federal minimum wage for employees covered by the Canada Labour Code and Nova Scotia’s provincial minimum wage will both increase April 1, their respective governments said.
The Canada Labour Code hourly minimum wage will increase to C$17.30 (US$12.84), up from C$16.65, Employment and Social Development Canada said on its website. Employees covered by the Canada Labour Code must be paid its minimum wage unless it is higher in the jurisdiction where they work.
Nova Scotia’s hourly minimum wage will increase to C$15.20, from C$15, its government said in a news release.
