Chicago Minimum Wage Rising to $16.60 July 1

Updates to Chicago’s minimum wages and Fair Workweek Ordinance are going into effect July 1, Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) announced in a June 3 press release.

The hourly minimum wage will increase to $16.60 from $16.20, according to the press release. The tipped minimum wage will rise to $12.62 from $11.02 as the city slowly phases out its tip credit.

The minimum wage for employees in subsidized youth employment programs and transitional employment programs will rise to $16.50 from $15, according to the press release.
