Chile’s monthly minimum wage is proposed to increase effective Aug. 1, 2018, and again March 1, 2019, the country’s finance ministry said Aug. 20.
Under the proposal, the monthly minimum wage for workers of 18 to 65 years of age would increase to CLP$286,000 (U.S. $429.57) from CLP$276,000 (U.S. $414.45) effective Aug. 1, 2018, and would increase again to CLP$300,000 (U.S. $450.60) effective March 1, 2019, the ministry said in a news release (Spanish).
