Chile’s monthly minimum wages were updated effective retroactively to Jan. 1 after a consumer price index change threshold was met in December, a decree published in the country’s gazette Feb. 3 said.
The minimum wage for workers at least age 18 and up to age 65 increased to 410,000 Chilean pesos (US$516.60) per month, up from 400,000, and the minimum wage for workers under age 18 or over age 65 increased to 305,851 Chilean pesos per month, up from 298,391 Chilean pesos, the decree (Spanish) said.
