Cincinnati’s Reduced Wage Tax Rate to Take Effect Oct. 2

Cincinnati decreased its wage tax rate to 1.8% from 2.1%, effective Oct. 2, the city’s revenue department said.

The new rate applies to paychecks issued by employers to resident and nonresident employees for wages earned in the city, an agency spokeswoman said.

An amendment to the city charter to decrease the income tax rate to 1.8% from 2.1% was approved in April.
