Colorado Announces 2024 Minimum Wage, Redefines Tipped Employee

Colorado published its 2024 minimum wage rates and revised its wage-hour regulations in two final orders that go into effect on Jan. 1, 2024.

The Labor and Employment Department adopted the final orders on Nov. 9.

Minimum Wages

The state minimum wage will be $14.42 in 2024, up from $13.65 in 2023, according to Colorado’s Publication And Yearly Calculation of Adjusted Labor Compensation Order.

The tipped minimum wage will rise to $11.40 from $10.63, based on a $3.02 maximum hourly tip credit.

Employers may only pay the tipped minimum wage to workers who qualify as tipped employees. Effective Jan. ...
