Colorado Extends Wage-Garnishment Restrictions to June

Colorado extended a limit on new wage garnishments and other debt collection activities until June 1, 2021, under a bill (S.B. 21-002) that Gov. Jared Polis (D) signed on Jan. 21, according to the legislature’s website.

Those experiencing financial hardship related to the coronavirus pandemic may request that a new wage garnishment be suspended, if specified conditions are met, under the measure, Extending Limitations on Debt Collection Actions, which took effect immediately.
