Colorado is decreasing its family-leave insurance premium rate while expanding program benefits, starting Jan. 1, 2026.
The premium rate for 2026 will be 0.88% of covered employee wages, down slightly from the current 0.9% rate, under SB 25-144.
Starting in 2027, the Colorado Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance must calculate the premium rate annually by Sept. 1 of the previous year, under the bill. The premium rate may not exceed 1.2%.
SB 25-144 also provides an extra 12 weeks of family-leave benefits for employees who have a child receiving inpatient care at a neonatal intensive care unit. ...
