Colorado’s hourly minimum wage would increase to $11.10 from $10.20 and the tipped-worker minimum wage to $8.08 from $7.18, effective Jan. 1, 2019, under a proposal that was issued Oct. 1 by the Department of Labor and Employment.
The wage increase is the result of a Nov. 8, 2016, voter-approved ballot initiative (Amendment 70), that raises the state’s hourly minimum wage until it reaches $12 and the tipped-worker minimum wage reaches $8.98 on Jan. 1, 2020, with subsequent annual adjustments for inflation thereafter.
