The hourly minimum wage in Cook County, Illinois, will rise to $15 from $14.05 effective Jan. 1, 2025, according to an update on the county’s website.
The tipped minimum wage will increase to $9 from $8.40, according to the website.
Both rates match the scheduled statewide minimum wage rates for 2025, which supersede the county’s local rates. Cook County will adjust its local rates on July 1, 2025, and the applicable minimum wage in the county will rise if the local rates exceed the statewide rates, under Cook County’s minimum wage code.
