Costa Rica’s amounts of employment income at which its personal income tax rates of 10 percent and 15 percent start to apply increased effective Oct. 1, according to a notice the Ministry of Finance released Oct. 3.
The new tax brackets are in effect until Sept. 30, 2019, the notice (Spanish) said.
The ranges of monthly income and corresponding tax rates are:
- Up to 817,000 colónes (U.S. $1,392.17), the tax rate is zero;
- More than 817,000 colónes and up to 1,226,000 colónes (U.S. $2,089.10), the tax rate is 10 percent; and
- More than 1,226,000 colónes, the tax rate is 15 ...
