Delaware Minimum Wage

The effective date of the first hourly minimum wage increase to be implemented under a measure (S.B. 170) that was signed July 1 by Gov. John Carney (D) is Jan. 1, 2019, the state legislature’s research division confirmed July 17.

The text of the measure, which is to raise the state’s hourly minimum wage to $9.25 on Oct. 1, 2019, from $8.25, called for the first hourly minimum wage increase to $8.75 to occur Oct. 1, 2018.
