A Delaware state withholding certificate for use starting in 2020 was released Jan. 6 by the state revenue division.
Delaware’s Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, includes separate worksheets for residents and nonresidents to calculate how many state allowances to claim. The form also allows employees to request additional withholding, and may be used to report new employees to Delaware’s State Directory of New Hires.
New employees and any others who wish to change their withholding are to use the new form, a spokeswoman for the state revenue division told Bloomberg Tax on Jan. 6.
