District of Columbia Announces 2025 Unemployment Insurance Taxes

The District of Columbia released its 2025 unemployment insurance tax rate information on its website.

Unemployment insurance tax rates for experienced employers will be determined using Table 6, according to the website. Tax rates in Table 6 range from 1.9% to 4.4% for positive-rated employers and from 6.2% to 7.4% for negative-rated employers, under state law.

The tax rate for new employers will remain 2.7% for 2025, according to the website.

Employers are also subject to a 0.2% administrative assessment fee, according to the website.
