The District of Columbia released its 2023 unemployment insurance tax rates in a Dec. 20 update on the district’s Department of Employment Services website.
Effective Jan. 1, unemployment tax rates for experienced employers will be determined with Table 6, the website said. Tax rates for positive-rated employers will range from 1% to 4.4% and from 6.2% to 7.4% for negative-rated employers. The tax rate for new employers is 2.7% in 2023. These rates are unchanged from 2022.
For 2023, the administrative fund tax will remain 0.2% for all employers.
The unemployment-taxable wage base will be $9,000, unchanged from 2022.
