District of Columbia Unemployment Tax Rates Unchanged for 2026

The District of Columbia released its 2026 unemployment insurance tax rate information on the Department of Employment Services website.

Unemployment insurance tax rates for experienced employers are determined using Table 6, according to the website. Tax rates in Table 6 range from 1.9% to 4.4% for positive-rated employers and from 6.2% to 7.4% for negative-rated employer, under state law.

The tax rate for new employers will remain 2.7% for 2026, according to the website.

Employers are also subject to a 0.2% administrative assessment fee, according to the website.
