The Dominican Republic increased its monthly minimum wage for private sector workers, according to a resolution (Spanish) approved by the country’s Comité Nacional de Salarios, the three-member body responsible for setting the national minimum wage.
The CNS used a new reclassification system for companies when setting the monthly minimum wage. Employers in the Dominican Republic now pay different monthly minimum wages based on their number of employees and their annual gross sales, and are categorized as micro, small, medium, or large.
