Draft 2022 Form W-4 Issued by IRS

A draft version of the 2022 Form W-4, Employee’s Withholding Certificate, was issued Dec. 21 by the Internal Revenue Service.

The draft form did not contain substantial revisions from the version in effect for 2021.

The form’s worksheet for employees claiming deductions was updated with inflation-adjusted amounts for 2022. The 2022 standard deductions are $25,900, married filing jointly, or qualifying widow or widower; $19,400, head of household; and $12,950, single or married and filing separately.

Tables to be used with the multiple-jobs worksheet also were updated.
