The E-Verify program will be temporarily unavailable while the federal government is shut down, according to an Oct. 1 Department of Homeland Security announcement.
Specifically, the program is unavailable due to lapses in appropriations and statutory authority, the department said.
Employers are not able to access their E-Verify accounts, enroll in E-Verify, or add user accounts, according to the announcement. Customer support and services are closed, and any E-Verify webinars and training sessions are canceled, the department said.
The department is providing temporary relief while the program is unavailable.
