El Cerrito, Calif., to Raise 2021 Minimum Wage by 24 Cents

El Cerrito, Calif., is to increase its minimum wage by 24 cents Jan. 1.

The wage is to increase to $15.61 from $15.37, the city said on its website. Tip credits cannot be applied toward minimum wage.

The new wage, which applies to employees who work at least two hours a week, is adjusted each year for inflation.

El Cerrito’s minimum wage applies to any employee in the city’s limits, regardless of the size and location of the employer. The city’s minimum wage standard was established by an ordinance in 2015.
