The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services updated its Form I-9 guidance on Native American tribal documentation, according to a March 1 news release.
The new guidance, which is available online, now includes a chart showing how Native American tribal documents are either considered a List B or List C document for Form I-9 verification purposes based on an employee’s U.S. nationality.
List B documents establish a person’s identity. List C documents establish a person’s authorization to work in the United States.
