Florida’s minimum unemployment tax rate is to rise in 2021, a spokesman for the state Department of Revenue said Dec. 7.
Effective Jan. 1, 2021, unemployment tax rates are to range from 0.29% to 5.4%, the spokesman told Bloomberg Tax in an email. Unemployment tax rates for 2020 range from 0.1% to 5.4%.
The tax rate for new employers is to be 2.7% in 2021, unchanged from 2020.
Florida’s unemployment-taxable wage base is to be $7,000 in 2021, unchanged from 2020.
