France Increases Minimum Wage, Effective Aug. 1

France’s hourly minimum wages increased effective Aug. 1 under a decree published in the country’s gazette July 29.

The decree (French) increases the standard hourly minimum wage to 11.07 euros (U.S. $11.45), up from 10.85 euros. The standard minimum wage applies to metropolitan France, the overseas departments except for Mayotte, and the overseas collectivities of St. Barthélemy, St. Martin, and St. Pierre and Miquelon.

Mayotte’s hourly minimum wage increased to 8.35 euros, up from 8.19 euros, the decree said.
