France’s hourly minimum wage increased effective Jan. 1, 2024, a decree published in the country’s gazette Dec. 21 said.
The standard hourly minimum wage will increase to 11.65 euros (US$12.80), from 11.52 euros, the decree (French) said. The standard minimum wage also applies to the overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Réunion, and the overseas collectivities of St. Barthélemy, St. Martin, and St. Pierre and Miquelon.
The overseas department of Mayotte has a lower minimum wage, which increased to 8.80 euros per hour, from 8.70 euros, the decree said.
