France Ups Minimum Wages for 2020, Social Contributions Affected

France is raising its standard minimum wage and the minimum wage for its overseas department of Mayotte in 2020, with the increases affecting applicability of higher contribution rates for funding health insurance and family allowances.

Effective for 2020, France’s standard minimum wage is 10.15 euros (U.S. $11.34) per hour or 1,539.42 euros (U.S. $1,720.40) per month, up from the 2019 levels of 10.03 euros (U.S. $11.21) per hour or 1,521.22 euros (U.S. $1,700.06) per month, the country’s Association for Collection of Social Security and Family Contributions said in a news release (French).
