Georgia released its 2025 withholding methods, which mirrors the updates that took effect July 1, 2024, retroactively to Jan. 1, 2024.

The 2025 Employer’s Tax Guide retained the 5.39% flat rate, which replaced the previous maximum rate of 5.75%. Georgia’s $4,000 annual state allowance is unchanged.

Additionally, the increased standard deductions of $24,000 for married taxpayers filing jointly and $12,000 for single, head of household, and married filing separate taxpayers remain the same, according to the guide.

The guide also indicates that the additional deductions for taxpayers who are over the age of 65 or blind have been eliminated.
