Georgia Releases Revised 2025 Withholding Tax Guide

Georgia released its revised 2025 withholding methods, dated April 2025, on June 1.

The state decreased its flat income tax rate to 5.19%, from 5.39%, effective July 1 and retroactive to Jan. 1.

Employers are directed to continue withholding at the rate of 5.39% until June 30, according to the revised 2025 Employer’s Withholding Tax Guide. Beginning July 1, they should implement the new withholding rate of 5.19%, the guide said.
