Georgia updated its withholding certificate Jan. 4 following other updates to its 2024 withholding methods.
The updated Form G-4, State of Georgia Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, only has employees select a filing status and does not assign a number of allowances to each status. While employees still claim allowances for dependents and additional adjustment allowances, the worksheet for calculating adjustment allowances was updated to remove allowances for age or blindness.
Employers are still required to mail the form to the state revenue department if an employee claims more than 14 allowances or exemption from withholding, the form’s instructions said. ...
